We are delighted to announce that Rakhi Patel, an existing trustee and long-term supporter of HOPE, has been appointed as the new Chair of our Board of Trustees. Rakhi takes over from Phil Mumby, who has been a Trustee for over a decade, and has decided that now is the right time to step down from the role.
Rakhi is honoured to have been chosen to take on this responsibility and is already working closely with the trustees, staff, and our many donors and supporters to ensure that HOPE’s vital work continues to thrive and grow.
Reflecting on his time as Chair, Phil shared:
“I am delighted to see Rakhi step into the role, and I am confident she will be a great success. Beyond her evident personal strengths, she has shown deep passion for the support we provide to children and young people in Kolkata, and a strong commitment to our mission.
I wish her every success as she leads HOPE UK forward alongside our dedicated team, trustees, and most importantly, our incredible supporters and donors, without whom none of this would be possible.
Serving as Chair has been an absolute privilege.“
Everyone at HOPE is deeply grateful to Phil for his dedication and leadership, and look forward to this exciting new chapter with Rakhi at the helm.
