Everyone in HOPE has been saddened by the passing of Dame Jenni Murray on 12 March. Jenni was a cherished HOPE UK Patron for many years, whose compassion touched countless lives. Her support for HOPE, and for so many other charities, will forever be remembered.
Dame Jenni’s remarkable broadcasting career began at BBC Radio Bristol in 1973, followed by roles on South Today, Newsnight, and BBC Radio 4’s Today. From 1987 to 2020, she was the respected and influential voice of Woman’s Hour, while also contributing to major newspapers and authoring books on women’s rights, menopause, and parenting.
Her dedication to thoughtful conversation and her lifelong commitment to championing women’s experiences leave an enduring legacy of courage, insight, and compassion.
