Alpana’s mother passed away when she was a little girl, and she grew up living with her father, brother and sister by a railway platform. A dangerous place to live, Alpana met with an accident on the platform and lost her right hand.
She was taken into HOPE’s care at the age of 12. A hardworking girl, she completed her formal education before receiving support from HOPE to move into her own apartment.
Through dedication and determination, Alpana successfully passed the exams required to gain a government job and is now employed by the government’s Food Corporation Department. She is happily married to another government employee and owns her own house.
