The team at HOPE UK is pleased to announce the appointment of Neil Holden and Rakhi Patel to the Board of Trustees. Both Neil and Rakhi bring with them a wealth of experience and knowledge, which will greatly benefit HOPE UK and the wider HOPE family.

With more than 25 years of senior leadership experience, Neil has held executive roles such as CTO, CIO and CDO in leading retail businesses. He is now co-founder of Ignite AI Partners.

Neil’s travels to India, and particularly Kolkata, have given him firsthand insight into the challenges faced by street-connected children and the impact of HOPE’s work.

“Seeing the incredible work done by HOPE in Kolkata reinforced to me how urgent and vital this mission is. I am honoured to play a part in helping The Hope Foundation give children the opportunity to thrive,” said Neil.

Rakhi, meanwhile, has worked in the banking industry for more than 20 years, most recently as an executive director. Alongside her finance career, Rakhi is dedicated to supporting charities that are close to her heart.

She learned about HOPE after watching Sue Perkins’ BBC documentary Kolkata and has been a dedicated supporter ever since. Rakhi currently sponsors seven children through HOPE’s education sponsorship programme.
Rakhi said: “I value being a child sponsor to this day and after making a decision to want to contribute further, was offered the position of joining the board of HOPE UK as a Trustee. It’s a privilege and an honour to be part of such a loved charity and I’m hugely excited to see us develop and grow further as an organisation.”

        Welcome Neil and Rakhi!
