HOPE is delighted to announce that it’s new Mobile Dental Ambulance, which was inaugurated in April, is now bringing vital dental health care services, as an outreach activity from HOPE Hospital, to those who are living on the streets and in the slums and peri urban areas of Kolkata.
As a result of the incredible generosity and kindness of HOPE friends and supporters, (including Dr. David Mulcahy, Dr. Anne O Connell, Des Walshe, Richard Mulchay, Alan Cole, Kevin Phelan, Michael Dolan, Colm Carroll, and Brian Mac Mahon), HOPE has been able to purchase this ambulance and customise and equip it, and thus provide a state of the art mobile dental facility, with services delivered by HOPE’s experienced and professional dentistry team.
Activities undertaken include standard dental check-up, scaling, extractions, fillings etc. and as required, beneficiaries are referred to HOPE Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.
HOPE requires funding to continue to implement and sustain this programme, and thus we are seeking financial support for same. Approximately 11,000 children and adults annually will benefit from this intervention and with the total cost of realising this programme being £22,000 – this equates to a cost of less than £2 per person.
