The Big Give Christmas Campaign: One donation to HOPE, twice the impact in Kolkata
For one week only, online donations made to HOPE via The Big Give Christmas Campaign will be doubled at no extra cost to the donor.
This campaign will raise funds for one of HOPE’s programme which will protect and empower street connected girls in Kolkata.
The Big Give Christmas Campaign launches at 12 noon on Tuesday 30th November and will finish at 12 noon on Tuesday 7th December.
The launch date, 30th November, is Giving Tuesday (a day of global charitable giving) so please consider donating to HOPE and give a much needed gift of protection and empowerment to a young girl living on the streets in Kolkata.
How to donate to HOPE via The Big Give Christmas Campaign
- The Big Give donation link goes live at 12 noon on Tuesday 30th November and will expire at 12 noon on Tuesday 7th December. Please don’t donate before the launch date and please do not donate directly to HOPE, as your donation won’t have a chance to be doubled! Please only donate via the button below after launch.
- Please enter your donation amount, contact details and payment details.
- You will also be asked to set up a password and will receive a confirmation email receipt.
- There will be a 15 minute time limit to complete your donation to ensure that funds can be matched for HOPE (and in turn doubled).
- Please note that “matched funds” are limited, but even if HOPE reaches the limit of funds available, you can still donate to HOPE (but your donation will not be doubled).

The Big Give Christmas Campaign for HOPE, will raise funds for a programme to protect and empower girls in Kolkata
Young girls living on the streets and in the slums of Kolkata are extremely vulnerable to violence, abuse and sexual exploitation. They lack protection and access to basic services. HOPE’s programme protects them; provides them with access to their basic rights, and empowers them to fulfil their potential.
Street-connected girls are often referred to as invisible children. They face discrimination and are easy targets for abuse, violence, child marriage and trafficking. They are regularly out of school, malnourished and exposed to health risks due to poor sanitation and hygiene practices. They are typically engaged in household work or take care of their siblings from a very young age. Due to lack of access to education and training they are unable to escape from the cycle of poverty.
HOPE’s programme will provide care and protection to vulnerable and “at-risk” girls between 13-18 years of age, enabling them to access their rights to education, nutrition, healthcare, vocational training, and to the social and emotional supports which they require.

HOPE’s projects have been severely impacted by the pandemic, and cannot continue without your support. Every donation will help to ensure that HOPE’s essential work can continue.
HOPE’s vision is of “a world where it should never hurt to be a child”, please help us to continue to make this vision a reality.
