The Hope Foundation UK are delighted to announce that TV doctor, Dr Pixie McKenna, will be running in the 2018 London Marathon for HOPE UK.
Best known for her role in Channel 4’s primetime, BAFTA-winning medical series ‘Embarrassing Bodies’ and Channel 4’s ‘Food Hospital’ Dr. Pixie McKenna will be getting her running shoes on to support HOPE and make a difference.
Discussing HOPE’s work in Kolkata, Dr. Pixie McKenna said “Children need to be safeguarded against ill health, abuse and poverty. The Hope Foundation does this and so much more.”
When asked about running in aid of HOPE, Dr. Pixie McKenna said “ This marathon isn’t about me it’s about all those children in Kolkata who like my daughter Darcy deserve to grow, to dream, and to achieve” and when asked about training so far she exclaimed “ Don’t expect a record breaking time but do please help me break my fundraising target of £10,000!”
We at HOPE UK would like to extend our thanks to Dr. Pixie McKenna for her continued support and we look forward to meeting her at the finish line. Please follow Dr. Pixie McKenna’s progress via our social media platforms!
The Virgin Money London Marathon will take place on Sunday the 22nd of April 2018.
