Success of “Conversation for HOPE” provides emergency relief to thousands in Kolkata
Conversation for HOPE has successfully raised in excess of £3,500 so far, and with a second broadcast scheduled for Sunday 14th June, HOPE are confident that we can significantly increase this income, and allow us to continue to provide emergency relief supplies to many more families who are living in extremely vulnerable circumstances in Kolkata.
HOPE has already used these funds to provide 140 families with shelter materials, drinking water and enough food for the next two weeks.
Speaking from the front line in Kolkata, HOPE’s Director Geeta Venkadakrishnan said, “We cannot thank enough, everyone who so generously supported Conversation for HOPE, which has enabled us to continue to provide emergency supplies to those most in need. I can testify first-hand the difference which this has made to the lives of some of the most vulnerable people living on the streets and in the slums of Kolkata.”
To date, HOPE has supported more than 40,000 people whose lives have been devastated by the twin disasters of Covid-19 and Cyclone Amphan – but there are many thousands more who need our help. Thus, the Conversation for HOPE continues.
Due to popular demand we are broadcasting again on Sunday 14th June; at two separate times to suit audiences in India as well as in the UK. At 19:00hrs IST (which is 14.30hrs UK) and 23:30hrs IST (which is 19.00hrs UK). We urge all to please sign up to this programme and in so doing, bring HOPE to those most in need. Kolkata needs you more than ever.
