Rye Factor Charity Event
The Rye Factor raised just over £500 for HOPE. The Sixth Form organised and led the event under the supervision of the Head of Sixth Form. Both teachers and pupils were involved in the show which was Rye’s own interpretation of the X Factor. The idea was to show off talent in the school whilst raising money and awareness of HOPE's work.
There was a panel of judges made up of teachers and sixth formers to comment on the acts. Performances were given by pupils aged 10-18 as well as by staff. The turnout was fantastic and spectators were hugely appreciative and supportive. The show lasted 2 hours with an interval for refreshments. The whole night was great fun! HOPE gave a short presentation before the show to tell the audience precisely how the money raised was going to benefit the children. Ynyscynon Early Years Centre
"We were very happy this year to support HOPE with our proceeds from our harvest raffle. The HOPE charity works effectively with children who live very difficult lives. It is such a contrast to the hopeful lives our children live.
Our children are very young but they could empathise and understand something of the harsh lives these children lead. Therefore not only have we been able to offer a small amount of hope to these children but we have learnt more about the world we live in. All the best we will hopefully be in touch in the future.
