HOPE U Can Paint – 27 Oct – 3 Nov 2012 HOPE Yoga with Children Initiative – 30 Oct – 9 Nov 2012 Coming soon in the UK - Popup4poverty
In April, Ed Francis from The Engineer and a team of hospitality professionals and well-known faces organised the UK’s largest ever pop-up restaurant. “Kaiwecare” raised over £65,000 for the New Zealand Red Cross Christchurch earthquake fund. Ed and the core team are now forming a trust called ‘popup4poverty’ with HOPE receiving 50% of all profits raised. The trust are planning one event each month around the UK with a large annual fundraiser in London. The inaugural event will take place soon with a simple goal: 1 day, 400 guests, £100,000! Previous Events 24 - 26th November - Sparkling Dinner Theatre - A host of great actors gathered at La Bodega restaurant in Henley-on-Thames for three lovely evenings of theatre over tapas! Jeremy Child, Richard Howard, Sally Nesbitt and Henry Jenkinson were directed and joined by BAFTA winner Jane Trainer in performances of Roma's Song (written by Caroline Graham) and Pub Lunch (written by Richard Howard for The Hope Foundation). These very special events raised over £2,400 for our work with HIV affected children. Thank you very much to all who came along to support us. Friday 11th November - London fundraising lunch - Our first UK fundraising lunch held at the Four Seasons Hotel was a great success, raising over £26,000! We were excited to have Christopher Biggins and Laura Yanez supporting this event. Thank you to all those who came along, donated prizes and volunteered their time. We hope to see you again next year! Saturday 6th August 2011 - Charity Yoga Day Inspired and moved by Simon Low's account of his experiences with The Hope Foundation in India, Ruth McNeil, Alex Petsch and Vikki Stevenson held a Yoga day to raise funds for The Hope Foundation. The day was fun, informative and raised over £3,000! We are so thankful to everyone who took part. Saturday 9th July 2-5pm - Hope Foundation Ramble with Cream Teas. Tickets were £10 and included a ramble in Hambleden Woods and cream tea afterwards at the beautiful Burrow Down Farm and gardens. We were so lucky with the weather, and we raised just over £400 for the Hope Foundation. A great big thank you to everyone involved! Tuesday 5th July - Garden Party in St John’s Wood - An intimate gathering of only 25 ladies to enjoy a luncheon at the private address of OK magazine's former Tarot card reader, with Indian Summer garden accessories to purchase, and a talk by Shiuli, a renowned Interior designer. Tickets were £25 each. What a fantastic event this was. We raised just over £1,000! We run a variety of events throughout the year. They are enjoyable occasions, where you can find out more about The Hope Foundation, meet new people and most importantly, have a good time! We hope you will be able to join us at one, if not more of them. For further information please contact info@thehopefoundation.org.uk. We are always looking for more volunteers who might like to stage an event, or just come and help out! |
