How do you make a lasting difference to the street children of Kolkata?

We want to break the cycle of poverty by providing children with a lifeline of education and healthcare. We identify projects that will lead to sustainable improvements in people’s lives. Therefore instead of replicating government services, our first task is to spread awareness of these services to street and slum families. However the reality is that many very poor families need help to access the basic needs of education and health. This is why we create projects that act as a ‘bridge’, for example, our after school coaching centres provide homework support, so the children pass their exams are allowed to stay at government school.

Our overall goal is to restore basic human rights to the street and slum children of Kolkata.

We do this by supporting vulnerable children and adults by:
  • Providing shelter, nutrition, education and health care services
  • Promoting sustainable change in the community by improving overall health and education
  • Creating relationships with all levels of government and the community, to raise awareness of the need for health, education and protection
